MEET COACH MONEY
Founder & Head Coach of Coach Money’s Football Factory
Train • Develop • Dominate
Monterrio Elston, known as Coach Money, brings a lifelong passion for football, athletic development, coaching, and helping others reach their full potential. With over 10 years of coaching experience and more than a decade working in the mental health field, Coach Money is committed to developing athletes both physically and mentally while building the character and life skills that extend far beyond the playing field.
Coach Money’s football journey began with the Jacksonville Mighty Vikings, where he played little league football. He continued his football career at Jacksonville Junior High and Jacksonville High School, playing for the Jacksonville Red Devils. Throughout his playing career, he gained experience at multiple positions, including running back, linebacker, quarterback, and cornerback, while also contributing as a kickoff returner.
After high school, Coach Money continued pursuing his football career at Arkansas Baptist College as a running back. Unfortunately, injuries prevented him from competing once the season began. Despite this setback, his love for the game never faded. Instead, his experiences helped shape his understanding of the dedication, preparation, perseverance, and mental toughness required to succeed in football.
In addition to football, Coach Money demonstrated his athletic ability on the track. During his time at Jacksonville High School, he recorded a personal-best time of 11.1 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 23.4 seconds in the 200-meter dash. He also recorded a long jump of 21 feet, 10 inches, and qualified for the state meet as part of Jacksonville High School’s 4x100-meter relay team.
His track and field background contributes to his understanding of speed, explosiveness, coordination, and athletic development—important qualities he works to help young athletes improve.
Coach Money has dedicated more than 10 years to coaching and developing athletes. He spent four years coaching with the Jacksonville Mighty Vikings, serving as head coach for two of those years. During this time, he gained valuable experience teaching football fundamentals, leading young athletes, and helping players develop their skills and understanding of the game.
He has also coached at several football camps, assisting former teammates in providing athletes with opportunities to improve their skills, compete, and showcase their abilities. This includes assisting a former high school teammate who went on to play in the NFL, as well as another former teammate with football camps, position-specific skills camps, and combine camps.
These experiences have strengthened Coach Money’s commitment to helping athletes improve their technique, develop their athletic abilities, and prepare for future opportunities in football.
Beyond football, Coach Money brings over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field, helping both children and adults navigate behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges.
His professional background has reinforced the importance of patience, communication, emotional regulation, confidence, discipline, and positive decision-making. He understands that developing a successful athlete requires more than physical training. It also requires helping young people build mental toughness, manage adversity, accept constructive criticism, and maintain a positive attitude when facing challenges.
Coach Money believes that the lessons athletes learn through sports can prepare them for challenges in the classroom, at home, in their future careers, and throughout life.
Coach Money is a proud husband to his beautiful wife, Carmela Elston, and a devoted father of six children. Family is a major source of inspiration behind his passion for coaching and youth development.
Sports are an important part of the Elston family. His son, Monterrio Jr., plays football for Kansas State, while Taylor participates in softball, Jayvion competes in track and field, and Kensington plays football. His younger sons, Jeremiah and Roman, are not yet old enough to participate in organized sports but already enjoy football and track.
Being a father to children involved in sports gives Coach Money a personal understanding of the commitment, sacrifice, encouragement, and support young athletes need from their families and coaches.
Coach Money founded Coach Money’s Football Factory to create an environment where young athletes can develop their football skills while learning valuable lessons about life.
His vision is to develop athletes who demonstrate strong character, positive attitudes, integrity, discipline, hard work, teamwork, active listening, determination, dedication, dependability, and accountability. He wants every athlete to understand the importance of giving their best effort, having fun, and maintaining a never-give-up mentality.
Above all, Coach Money believes in putting God first and emphasizing the importance of education alongside athletic development. His philosophy is simple: young people should strive to become better students, better athletes, better teammates, and better individuals.
For Coach Money, success is not measured solely by touchdowns, statistics, championships, or athletic accomplishments. It is also measured by the character athletes display, the decisions they make, the obstacles they overcome, and the people they become.
His mission is to train athletes, develop character, build confidence, and prepare the next generation for success both on and off the field.
GOD FIRST. CHARACTER ALWAYS.
HARD WORK DAILY. NEVER GIVE UP.
